Although times have changed and circumstances with them, the sense of mission of restoring the Orthodox Faith to the British Isles has remained constant. Abba Seraphim’s pontificate is all covered by the title ‘Restoring British Orthodoxy’. This first volume records the events following his predecessor’s death in 1979, when he succeeded him immediately, to the eve of the church’s union with the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria in 1994. At that period the Church was still known by the name of the Orthodox Church of the British Isles.
