What is a BOC service like? I go to a very modern baptist so I don't understand many church words (if you know what I mean). Can I find a video on youtube?
I would like to visit a BOC church, but I can't drive which makes it difficult! although hopefully soon will be able to!

I am a recently baptised member of the British Orthodox Church and find the British Orthodox Service to be somewhat of a blast from the past.
The services contain something for the eyes, ears and nose so to speak with incense, a liturgy, cymbals and something always going on to give praise to God from all our senses. From the moment I first attended a BOC service I could see a modern Interpretation of what was an Ancient Liturgy. I am not aware of any youtube videos of BOC Service, but to get an idea of the Liturgy used there is a video from my Baptism on youtube. It took place in a different Church than the usual Portsmouth services I attend but you will get the idea of the wording from it. Also, do not worry about not understanding the details, they will grow on you, and as Fr. Simon has always told me "If anyone notices you are doing something wrong, it means they are not focussing on their prayers" Or words to those effect. I came from a completely Secular background and also struggled with understanding what I originally percieved to be the complex form of Christianity (Thanks to that beautiful Cliche we gain from the Russians and Greeks here in the UK) but found that to witness the services first hand was the best way to discover it, and then it was only a matter of time before I found it to be something I am baffled that I went to long without.
If you need any more information on the services, there are plenty of people on here that could describe it better, also here is the Email address for Fr. Simon, the priest that runs th Bournemouth and Portsmouth services ( email@example.com) he is probably best equipt to answer any queries you have.

If you look at the new website there are, I think, some examples of our services.
