episcopalian non-jurors in the C18th - Louis - 21-05-2008 08:00 AM Recently whilst revising for my 18th century module for examinations I came across some information that suggested the non-juror episcopalians attempted to approach the Orthodox Church for admittance. There was nothing further. I wonder if anyone knows anything about this? - admin - 21-05-2008 09:57 AM Hi Louis Yes, that was a very interesting period in Church history. They contacted the Greeks, and had to wait quite a while for replies. In the end the Anglican Church warned the Greeks off the non-jurors and it all fizzled out. Here is an interesting paper on the subject of the Non-Jurors and the Eastern Orthodox. http://anglicanhistory.org/nonjurors/langford1.html I think that Abba Seraphim knows a lot about the Non-Jurors. Best wishes Peter - Louis - 21-05-2008 11:31 AM Thank you Peter. |
