Saint Severus eikon - compline - 24-04-2008 12:36 PM There is, on the BOF forum "frontpage", a lovely (albeit low-res) photo of a wall-painting of St Severus; it shows the saintly Patriarch clasping the Holy Bible, his hand raised in blessing. Could some kind person pls let me know (a) the source of this image (Egyptian, I presume?); and (b) how/where I might find a high-res copy. Thanks again. - admin - 24-04-2008 02:33 PM Hi Someone sent me the images a while back, but I can't remember who or where they were from. I'll look through my past emails and may still have it from a couple of years back, and then I will be able to ask. I have an icon of St Severus, by Deacon Stephane Rene from London. You can see a copy here ... http://www.britishorthodox.org/SEVERUS2.JPG Best wishes Peter - compline - 16-08-2008 09:37 AM For anyone interested: There's a clearer repro of the image on the OOL website: http://www.orthodox-library.org/index.htm |
