Sign of the Cross
Dear John and Kirk,
I certainly do not think you are wrong John, I have yet to come across any Church Father who didn't recommend making the sign of the cross at nearly every opportunity. Indeed the early martyrs would, I understand, often stand with arms outstretched in the Colisseum so that as they were attacked by wild beasts, burnt alive etc and died they could not fail but imitate Our Lord.
