Protest at Eritrean Embassy 30 May 2008
On 30 May, Christian Solidarity Worldwide will be hosting its annual demonstration outside the Eritrean Embassy in London. This year also marks six years since the closure of every Eritrean church except the Orthodox, Catholic and the Evangelical Lutheran. Harassment of Christians has increased dramatically since then and now over 2,000 Christians are detained in Eritrea without trial. They are subjected to terrible prison conditions and massive human rights violations.

During the demonstration a petition will be handed over to embassy officials expressing grave concern for the welfare of Patriarch Antonios who was illegally removed from office. Abba Seraphim, the Metropolitan of Glastonbury of the British Orthodox Church, who has taken a lead in campaigning on behalf of Patriarch Antonios, will be handing over the petition.

Start gathering at 2.45pm for a 3.00pm start, the demonstration will finish at 4.00pm.

The address of the Eritrean Embassy is:

96 White Lion Street
London
N1 9PF

Nearest tube - Angel
