Dear John
Interestingly, I am currently reading "The Spiritual World of Isaac the Syrian" by Hilarion Alfeyef. Isaac's view of the unity of creation and of God's love which never abandons us even when we abandon Him, resonates very deeply with me. It seems to me that he tends to Apocatastasis, as I do, though I can accept the official Orthodox line on the subject. Whether or not Isaac was a Nestorian doesn't in any way diminish his absolute holiness, nor the Orthodoxy of his Christian witness. As you say, he's a saint of the Orthodox Church Yours in Christ Paul |
