RE: Favourite reading matter
Some books I enjoyed as introductory reading for Exegesis and tradition are Christopher Hall's "...with the Church Fathers" collection.
The one's I have are Reading Scripture with the Church Fathers, Learning theology with the Church Fathers and Worshipping with the Church Fathers. I think the author is Catholic but he really expresses the importance and benefits of looking to th Church fathers for inspiration as well as possible pitfalls that cna be encountered. All in all, highly recommended. "The true Christian is a warrior making his way through the regiments of the invisible enemy to his heavenly homeland." - St Herman of Alaska. |
