Dear friends,
Well by some miracle I managed to walk the length of the St Cuthbert's Way last week, finishing at Lindisfarne on Sunday. My colleague and I pushed ourselves on the first day and that rather put a strain on my knees which meant I was in some pain and discomfort for the other days. But somehow, through the prayers of supporters and my own at every step, I did manage to complete the 100km challenge, which was a real challenge to me in many ways. I don't think I would have finished the walk without my companion, Chris, who kept me going over the four days without ever becoming exasperated at my slowness - especially coming down any steep slopes - and never rushed ahead. We have raised nearly ?1500 which will help build a school in an African village, and pictures and further description of our effort will appear on our website at http://www.walkingforafrica.com Thanks again for your support Peter |
